Monika Matus

Monika has over two decades of experience at the intersection of youth and migrant rights, EU and global political advocacy, and climate justice. She has worked with migrant-led initiatives in the Greek islands and the Balkans. She currently consults on advocacy and communication for Grupa Granica, an umbrella movement that brings together organisations, aid workers, local community members, and activists in response to the increasingly dire conditions at the Polish-Belarussian border, in particular in the Bialowieza primeval forest.

She is a fierce advocate for animal and environmental rights. In her spare time she enjoys long walks in nature with her 2 rescue dogs.
